I chose this leyend 'cause is a story that my grandfather told us. We have a finca in Cafayate (in Santa Barbara) and we always saw in the hill many lights that they moved and that was weird because there are no people who go up on the hill in the nigth. Only go up when is day light to look after the animals. He said that when there are this ligths we could found the "tapados". The Tapados are treasures that should have arrived to the Alto Peru, but the spanish hid them for the attack of the indios in "El Zorrito" hill in the nacional rute sixty-eigth. A lot of people tried to go up the hill but they died 'cause when a person goes up the holl is covered with fog so fast and the person lostes the orientacion and dies. The leyend says that three "frailes" died in the hands of the indios after hiden the treasure of gold that belonge to the jesuitas. Until this day the treasures are not found. The people don't know why.

The boy looks hack his jackets and founds the girl is death. THE WOODPECKER AND TOUCAN There was a story in the South America countries about two popular birds:the woodpecker and the toucan. Both species are well known in these regions for their characteristics:the former make a distinct sound in the trees and the latter have a big beak. This legend tries to explain why the woodpecker has colorful feathers in its head and its relationship with the toucan. To star,a little woodpecker that was going to be a dad, decided to build a nest in the top of an old tree. He made loud sounds with his beak day and nigth and caught the attention of a toucan. The toucan was interested in the woodpecker's work and proposed him a deal. The woodpecker accepted to build for toucan a nest in exchange for his beautiful and colorful feathers. Both agreed with this and since then they were best friends I chose this legend because I like these two animals in particular and their history was interesting

take them away very far from their parents. It is said that "El Duende" takes the Children to the depths of the jungle. The Familiar It is said by those who saw him that his apperance is similar to that of a huge dog , fierce or like a viboron with cat eyes and bristles on the head.It also appears as a person , mullite , pig or black torito. This would explain the fact that in the most famous mills of Jujuy , Salta , and Tucuman , peons disappeared every year and people never knows what had become of them. The owners had a hidden room in the factory where the familiar lives. In the case the peon survives , employers pay heavy sums so that they do not warn anyone. When the owner diea and does not pass the secret to another , since they no longer attend the familiar or give him food , the pact is lost and fortune disappears. I chose this legend because I found it very interesting.

The Familiar It is said that some bosses of the mills sign a contract or make a deal with The Familiar, who is the devil. They do this to become richer and have more luck and abundance. Each and every year, a pawn is offered to him to be eaten. The Familiar presents himself as a big, angry, red eyed dog, or as a giant snake with cat eyes. It's recommended not to kill black snakes. It may be the monster. some people seen him going through cane fields carrying a heavy chain. Nothing stops him. He goes through walls without being hurt. He also lives in Catamarca and San Luis in basements and some people hear a baby cry but is the big dog. There are a lot of accidents in different factories. When a man dies, some people believe that The Familiar had charged a life. It also means that the mill's owner will have a lot of success. More pawns the owner offers to the monster, more success the owner will have. This explains that a lot of pawns disappeared in famous mills of Jujuy, Salta and Tucumán and nobody never knew about them. The owners have the evil dog in a dark room. They sent people to look for some tools but those who got in, never got out. There were and there are a lot of men who know about this and they say that when somebody is sent to that room, the should carry a holy cross hanging from the chest, a rosary in the body and a sharp knife in the waist. If The Familiar attacks them, they must fight back. They may get injured but they will live thanks to the things they carried with them. There is only one problem. If the ones who fight can't use the knife, they will die. Finally, when the owner dies and nobody knows about The Familiar, this terrifying dog gets lost, the wealth disappears too. I chose this legend because it is one of my favorites and one of the most known too. Also, it takes place in the Argentinian north. Nahuel Cruz (3er año)

The legend Salamanca The salamanca is the refuge of the devil. Seldom leaves his burrow. It is known from the first of August and in carnival, where he likes to show off in all the arts of the field. LA VIUDA NEGRA This legend comes from the south specifically Chile and Argentina, in which they speak of a spectrum that they call the widow or the black widow, the description of the story of those who have crossed with this being usually varies in some details however they have similarity in its Basic appearance. Apparently and according to the earliest stories about this spectrum is that it would be a soul in pain that was previously a woman or a witch, who was married as well as very in love but at the death of her partner went crazy in the sadness, her heart filled Of grief and anger for having believed in eternal love is why he decides to take revenge on men. Making a pact with the dark forces his revenge reached unsuspected levels because he continued even beyond his death, that is why ancient stories locate her with riders who had to ride during the night meeting for evil with this spectrum. The horse fell before a sort of spell rising and refusing to obey its rider, then she would go up next to him and lead the horse so that it would crash or fall in a prostrate in the dark. The stories describe her as a feminine presence, tall and slender, always dressed in black or with a black veil that almost covers her whole, who saw her face described in a state of advanced decomposition with a lost look that seems to be confined In his thoughts, or focusing his attention on something far away, being very late at night on the side of the road or half of the block in case it is a town or locality. He always appears to the men from whom he apparently wants revenge, but never to women, since she is said to hate them, even though her presence often leads to death the one whom this spectrum has chosen, causing him to fall into deep ravines Or similar things, there has also been the case wheres he found his victim by a stretch of the road compelling him with a superhuman force to have relations with her tearing his clothes, scratching the whole body and causing him to enter a state of disorientation as if drunk and Once satisfied she let him disappear into the darkness of the night.
That night the wind was blowing hurricane in "Porvenir". Pedro Mansilla was walking staggering in the face of such adverse weather and the many drinks he had drunk in the village bar.
In his ethyl state he walked towards his home thinking that explanations would give his wife that half of his shearing pay had been left on the table of the bar just to accept a game of cards, that little by little became more and more extensive Trying to recover the lost and pair of more drinks. As he walked he heard noises that were confused with the usual noises of branches and leaves swaying from the stormy weather that was being lived. Snow and branches formed ghostly shadows, but at one moment he felt a cry and cry of despair from a child. Such was the fear he felt that he shuddered to his marrow, such was the fear that he decided to go down the road, to have more opportunity to escape in case something presented itself. When he reached the corner, he raised his head and saw a gigantic woman covered by a black robe, suddenly this specter fell upon him and, hugging him, shouted, "Ayy! They killed him. Many years ago. And left me alone.
When he was trapped by such a ghostly figure, he tried to separate himself from her with all his might and she hugged him again. "Only kisses will save him and I will be able to rest in peace," he said, trying to kiss him with his rotten mouth.
The black widow had her nose in the empty basins and suddenly Peter vomited from the endless disgust he felt, at last when he could detach himself came out screaming and running to his house. At the same time he broke the stillness that until that moment was lived in the town.
The next day all the people spoke of nothing else but the one that had happened to Peter, from now on even the most unbelieving thought twice to stay in the street until the night by facing the dead that hovered at night . Maria Emilia Nuñez 4t°

Once his sister was near more high of the Cup, the biy withdrew the loop so she could not lowe. She began to cry and scream: "Turay, Turay", which in quechua means brother. The young man began to cry so heartbreakingly that he could hear leagues. Little by litlle the lament became a kind of singing. Girl began to feel strange and his arms began to sprout feathers silky brunette, his feet bcame talons, his mount mutated into a peak, his eyes are dwarfed many tears and was thus converted into a night bird. There are some walkers who in the distance see a bright light them and they feel a scalpel that bristles their skin. It is a light that is kept at short distance.

THE WOODPECKER AND TOUCAN
ReplyDeleteThere was a story in the South America countries about two popular birds:the woodpecker and the toucan.
The Familiar
ReplyDeleteIt is said that some bosses of the mills sign a contract or make a deal with The Familiar, who is the devil.

The Legend of Humahuaca To the north of Humahuaca, more precisely, in Pueblo Viejo, the chief of a tribe called Ninañahui (an eye of fire), with his daughter Soncocolila (heart of a dove) lived in a small stone house hidden between the hills. The young Indian woman possessed a wild beauty, had black eyes, straight hair and braided black, tanned complexion and sturdy body. She lived with her flock of llamas, which she took every day to shepherd the field. One day while she was returning, she intercepted his RUMI (stone) path, an Indian warrior who had shared his childhood with Socololila. It was once the cacique CATARI (serpent) dominating the valleys on the other side of the zenta, RUMI's father was then ally of NIÑAHUI. But by the time the two chiefs were at war CATARI planned to invade the territory of their enemy and to make it concrete he sent the area to explore his son. But the father of SOCOCOLILA discovered them and ordered his people to form a narrow circle around the lovers. One of the Indians pierced an arrow with RUMI's body, which was badly wounded.NIÑAÑAHUI prolonged his agony in an attempt to obtain information from the enraged enemy, and the cacique determined his death. Useless were the pleas of her daughter before her father, this command to behead RUMI and hang his head on top of a cardon, punctuated by the fact observed all the thick tears that fell on the bloody face. Frightened the warriors shuddered and They began to scream !!!! Humahuaca, Humahuaca, Humahuaca !!!!!!!, the translation would be "HEAD THAT CRIES, THE HEAD THAT CRIES"

In the evenings one can hear the thunder of music and the laughter of the condemned. If someone passes near Salamanca and does not want to be tempted to enter, he must carry a Rosary in his hand or be a man of great faith. People who participate in the Salamanca can be several days without sleep and they do not notice Fatigue, in addition they are "graced" with some virtues like the execution of instruments, the capacity of singing, the oratoria, etc. Signs these characteristics of having signed a contract with the Devil.

LA VIUDA NEGRA
ReplyDeleteThis legend comes from the south specifically Chile and Argentina, in which they speak of a spectrum that they call the widow or the black widow, the description of the story of those who have crossed with this being usually varies in some details however they have similarity in its Basic appearance.
